Sudokwho
If you can't get enough of either popular BBC television programme Doctor Who or omnipresent logic puzzle Sudoku, why not combine your interests by playing Sudokwho, a lovely new puzzle by [info]the_heiress and yours truly.

Sudokwho#1

Each row, column, and 3x3 box must contain the faces of all nine Doctors to date (NOT CUSHING). We put the unadorned fizzogs of Doctors Hartnell to Ecclestone on the left for your cut-and-paste ease. We reserve the right to exclude Colin Baker once David Tennant starts. Off you go!

Su-fvckdoking-perb.

If I didn't know better, I'd think this was a fiendish plot by The MASTER to keep us all from getting any work done today.

zeitgeist and all that

I think you've summed up 2005 so far in one post. No-one need ever post again...

Re: zeitgeist and all that

That was roughly what I was going to say, but now you've summed up all the comments ...

Re: zeitgeist and all that

At this rate, we'll be responsible for not only a rapid decline in productivity, but also in blogging rates. MUA-HA-HA etc

What the world needs now is a Sudokwho Java or Flash dohickey for maximum interactive fun. What a shame I have proper work to do.
strange_powers From: [info]strange_powers Date: June 8th, 2005 08:56 am (UTC) (Link)
And also that I am a useless no-nothing low tech fool incapable of doing it himself. Proper work be damned!

Are you Bad Wolf?
strange_powers From: [info]strange_powers Date: June 8th, 2005 01:21 pm (UTC) (Link)
Well I'm a bit naughty, but bad is putting it a bit strongly.
maccy From: [info]maccy Date: June 8th, 2005 04:00 pm (UTC) (Link)
I'm just imagining an early script meeting where Russell T Davis tells the writers that they have to incorporate "Naughty Wolf" references into their scripts.

Glorious. I can't be arsed, but glorious nonetheless.

Oh Rhodri. Try, for Kellie if not for me.

Zeitgeist

Brilliant.. but for it to fully encompass the 2005 Zeitgeist, they should all get happy slapped when you fill a row / column.

Re: Zeitgeist

I couldn't find any pictures of Pertwee with a hoodie, or I would have done that.

Re: Zeitgeist

Happy slapped... by Pope Benedict XVI.

And filmed by The Emperor from that Star Wars.

Re: Zeitgeist

He's a good looking fella, that Palpatine. Bit of a rockist though, I've heard.
verlaine From: [info]verlaine Date: June 8th, 2005 05:47 pm (UTC) (Link)
Where do I fit in Trevor Martin? Richard Hurndall? Richard E Grant? Rowan Atkinson? Your puzzle would need to be bigger on the inside than the ou... oh!
d_sameboy From: [info]d_sameboy Date: June 8th, 2005 06:12 pm (UTC) (Link)
Very good!

I'm looking forward to the Slipknot version.
miss_newham From: [info]miss_newham Date: June 9th, 2005 08:53 pm (UTC) (Link)
Apparently I now have to make a Trinny and Susannah version of the same for my housemate. Damn you!
strange_powers From: [info]strange_powers Date: June 10th, 2005 12:34 pm (UTC) (Link)
You do know that it would be a very, very easy puzzle with only Trinny and Susannah's faces to arrange? In fact, there would only be two possible configurations of face:

TS
ST

or

ST
TS

...so I wouldn't bother unless you planning on introducing the faces of all the Queer Eye fellas and those two women who do the cleaning.
miss_newham From: [info]miss_newham Date: June 10th, 2005 12:36 pm (UTC) (Link)
I pointed this out to her and she said I could include photos of them in 9 different poses. As if i have nothing better to do than to stay home all morning faffing on the internet!
strange_powers From: [info]strange_powers Date: June 10th, 2005 01:29 pm (UTC) (Link)
But who would take the spare place? 4 Trinnys, 4 Susannahs and a Carson? Or Sarah Beeney?

may i suggest registering www.sudokwho.com at the earliest opportunity ;)
strange_powers From: [info]strange_powers Date: June 10th, 2005 12:35 pm (UTC) (Link)
That's a good idea, but it would probably require me to... do something. Still, I might!
From: [info]stealthmunchkin Date: June 18th, 2005 04:25 pm (UTC) (Link)
Shame it's not possible to complete by the rules. There's one box that you've put two Troughtons in...
From: [info]stealthmunchkin Date: June 18th, 2005 04:26 pm (UTC) (Link)
Not just that, but a couple of Baker, Ts touching too...
strange_powers From: [info]strange_powers Date: June 19th, 2005 11:39 am (UTC) (Link)
The 3x3 boxes are just the nine delineated boxes, not each possible 3x3 area on the overall grid.

It's very possible to solve, because I solved it.

[info]attomickbrane takes it that you have seen Viz this month, who feature SudokWHO on their cover, along with other similar puns inside.
strange_powers From: [info]strange_powers Date: August 9th, 2005 08:15 pm (UTC) (Link)
Thanks for that, I'd read [info]attomickbrane's post.

I'm going to have to investigate further. My remaindered team of pitbullesque lawyers are going to have them paying out the wazoo until doomsday! Bwah-hah-ha!
